Managing essential visits could be challenging for healthcare facilities. With Zipline's Essential Visits, you can better manage who can access your facility after hours or during lockdowns due to COVID-19 outbreaks. This feature will help ensure that these visits are seamless without compromising your facility's compliance or people's safety.
What visits are essential?
These are visits that can or are required to occur at any time. This includes, but not limited to, a) essential visitors such as named visitors, partners in care, maintenance works, etc. or b) anyone visiting for compassionate purposes/palliative visits.
How does it work?
It lets you tag specific visitors as Essential Visitors using the People Directory. This is like a key that provides additional booking and check-in permissions to specific people.
If a visitor has Special Access, they will be able to check in outside of hours or during lockdowns like normal without having to worry about being kept out or prevented from signing in.
Enabling Essential Visits for a facility
Click Edit next to Visitor access and then scroll down to Essential visit bookings. Tick or untick the switch next to it to enable or disable respectively. Click Save to apply the changes.
Marking a person as an Essential Visitor
After enabling Essential Visit settings, you can now provide or revoke special access to people by marking them as essential visitors. To do this, go to the People Directory and then search for the profile you'd like to mark. From there, click the Star icon next to the name to mark or unmark as an essential visitor.
Profiles with a blue-shaded star next to them are marked, and white-starred profiles are unmarked.
💡 Pro tip: When marking profiles as essential visitors, make sure that the phone number attached to them is the same as the phone number they will use to sign in. Even just a single-digit typo/mistake on the phone number could prevent them from signing in.
