The RateIt Zapier App allows for integrations with RateIt that do not require custom code be written. It uses the same Public API authentication and endpoints but allows for easier integration through Zapier's Zap designer. Currently, this is invite-only, so if you wish to use this app, please get in touch with us at [email protected].

Zapier Zaps

Zapier Zaps are small automated tasks that connect different apps and perform actions based on triggers. For instance: you can connect Stripe to Slack, so when new payments occur in Stripe, you receive a Slack notification. A zap requires a Trigger and at least 1 Action.

Creating your first Zap with RateIt

Zapier has a comprehensive guide to creating your first Zap and is highly recommended reading if this is your first time creating a Zap. This can be found here.

Currently, the RateIt Zapier app only supports two Actions: Sending a rating request via SMS or Email. To this end, you will need to choose a Trigger App that will provide either an email address or mobile phone number to be consumed in the RateIt action.

Search for 'RateIt' and choose the app with the most recent version (Zapier keeps a history of old versions).

Choosing your action

Choose the action you want to perform.

Send Rating Request (Email)

This allows for a targeted rating request to be send to an email address. This could be used to solicit feedback from someone who has performed an action in another system, such as making a booking or making a new online purchase.

Send Rating Request (SMS)

This allows for a targeted rating request to be sent to mobile phones via SMS. This could be used to solicit feedback from someone who has made a purchase or something else.

Authentication with RateIt

To connect the RateIt Zapier app with RateIt, you need to use the API Credentials generated in the Customer Portal. Click here for more information on API Credentials.

Zapier will prompt for these credentials in a pop-up similar to this.

Configuring the action

You can now configure the action using the prescribed fields.

You can use parameters from the triggerd step to fill fields in the action.
